Originally established in 1916, Camerican International is a leading US food importer to the retail, foodservice, chain restaurant, and manufacturing industries. Camerican imports food products such as frozen and canned fruits, vegetables, seafood, and select specialty items from over 40 countries around the world. Camerican is headquartered in Paramus, NJ, with sales offices across the US.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data review of rates received from ocean and trucking partners
  • Run optimization scenarios for determining routing guides (i.e. determining primary and secondary carriers for multiple lanes)
  • Data entry for new carrier contracts with carriers
  • Create cost analysis of alternate port scenarios by customer
  • Determine unplanned weekly surge of arriving containers by port Multiple countries and multiple weeks bunched up.
  • Support Ocean Procurement by establishing Infor Nexus rates for each carrier
  • Increase budgeted freight cost where the true facts determine that the current freight costs exceed the budget.
  • Do “cost average” studies for multiple container carriers and forwards where we have a mix of rates serving one volume lane
  • Find demurrage paid by carrier/by port and organize requests for refunds
  • Provide rates to Procurement team for best practices of supporting their sourcing decisions
  • Analyze logistics deductions and support accounts receivable team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of previous related experience
  • Highly proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel a must
  • Previous experience with ERP systems
  • Experience with Infor ERP highly desirable
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Flexible, self-motivated and highly organized
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
