Camerican is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to facilitate the supply chain process in the distribution of our goods with maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work independently within broad guidelines and perform tasks in a timely manner. In summary, the position will monitor and coordinate daily activity of imported ocean containers into port, troubleshoot problem shipments, formulate solutions and notify appropriate stakeholders. This includes managing relationships to avoid fees, and recommending processes and concepts to improve efficiencies, cost savings and profitability.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepare custom entry files and support customs brokerage process
  • Manage and coordinate ocean freight release and port drayage from port to warehouse delivery locations
  • Provide early identification of problem shipments in order to communicate/resolve with stakeholders and coordinate/implement solutions
  • Ensure effective execution of defined processes such as confirming shipment ETA’s, reviewing routing, confirming shipping line, monitoring government agencies and port releases, and scheduling delivery appointments
  • Serve as a main point of contact for a cross-functional team, including sales, sales support, logistics and finance.
  • Review and check shipping documents for accuracy in order to avoid delay when making import into the US
  • Track and manage a large number of container shipments
  • Clearly communicate to the team any challenges on shipments including cargo delays, price variances, and document errors


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in supply chain management or relevant field
  • 2 - 5 years of previous related experience; food import industry preferred
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and compliance requirements of FDA and US Customs
  • Understanding of cargo clearance and port procedures
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in his or her work
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office; Excel advanced skills required
  • Ability to work independently, yet also be a team player
